I wonder if they even thought to check the bike frame after the first attempt .. he was probably using a carbon frame bike which was a huge mistake. a steel frame may have held together

He crashed at 170kph and they let him roll around like a rag doll and not telling him to just lay there!! Hopefully he’s alright

Maybe if the bike was being used for correct purposes, I don’t believe Mountain bikes are meant for 170 km/h, + like Wobbie said, it’s a snow bike, at that speed, I’m sure he hit something and the shocks didn’t absorb the recoil which in turn snapped the frame, but who knows
